SMALLRIG Camera Cage for Sony A7III/A7RIII
The SmallRig Cage Kit 4198 is designed for the Sony Alpha 7 III and Alpha 7R III cameras. It makes it easier to shoot from a low angle, protects the camera body, and allows you to easily add additional accessories to your camera. The kit includes a cage, an HDMI cable clamp, and an ARRI top handle, making it suitable for both handheld shooting and as the foundation for a more extensive film setup. The three-point mounting system increases the camera’s stability within the cage and minimizes the risk of it rotating during operation.
A Secure Grip and Easy Access to the Camera
The top handle allows you to steady the camera while shooting from a low angle and makes it easier to carry the entire setup. The battery compartment features a movable arm contoured to the shape of the camera body, ensuring it does not restrict access to the battery while improving grip comfort. The cage is made of aluminum, stainless steel, and silicone, and weighs approximately 315 g, so it does not add excessive weight to your photography or film setup.
Numerous options for mounting accessories
The design features 1/4"-20 threaded holes, ARRI 3/8"-16 positioning holes, cold shoe mounts, NATO rails, and a QD socket. This allows you to mount, among other things, additional grips, microphones, LED lights, viewfinders, and other accessories used during recording. There are also mounting points on both sides of the cage for wrist straps, allowing you to better tailor the setup to your workflow.
HDMI Clamp and Tools Always at Hand
The included HDMI cable clamp is mounted on the left side of the cage using two 1/4"-20 screws and helps keep the cable in a stable position. It reduces stress on the camera’s connector and minimizes the risk of the cable accidentally coming loose, ensuring stable signal transmission during recording. The design also includes a magnetic flathead screwdriver, and the kit comes with two Allen wrenches needed for assembly and adjustment.
